ABSTRACT

During 2011, Spire Healthcare embarked on another ambitious IT project, to install a new back-end financial processing system. The first six months of this initiative were a difficult journey. The project was highly collaborative, involving a number of third parties and representatives from all areas of the Spire business, both administrative and support functions and patient-facing staff in hospitals. A dedicated cross-functional team was put together to run this project, scattered across the UK and Europe. Business as usual work and other projects had to continue during this time. Exceed was still in use on these other projects but was not used during the early days of the finance system project.
