ABSTRACT
Increasingly companies are required to comply with more and more laws andregulations, mainly dreamt up by politicians, drafted by lawyers and imposedby civil servants, few of whom have ever had to run a business. The USA has led the way in the worldwide intensity to criminalize what politicians regard as unacceptable business conduct. What politicians have done to smokers, they now plan to do to businesses.
