ABSTRACT

Members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) hold Meetings for Worship in a simple room without any statues, pictures or other symbols of faith, sometimes in a private house or hired hall. They sit in silence for an hour, during which some people may 'give ministry' (speak according to leading by the Spirit of God). There is no priest and liturgy or order of service. When Quakers pray at home, they do so in silence.
