ABSTRACT

This chapter examines a model to support organizational transformation. There are seven elements that need to be managed if successful transformation is to be achieved. The first three, Feelings, Experience and Environment, address the resistance aspects; with the remaining four, Leadership, Incentives, Plans and a Sense of Involvement refer to the motivators that should be applied. Environment works at two levels. First, there is the underlying culture of the organization and second, there are the actual work structures and business procedures/processes that are in place to support change. Leadership works at a number of points within the organization. It is critical for senior managers to demonstrate leadership in both their words and actions. The chapter also examines some of the tools, techniques and skills that need to be applied to the organizational transformation recipe to better understand the role of the organizational chef.
