ABSTRACT
The contributors to this volume have reached no consensus on a singular conception of citizenship that would meet all the challenges of this global age. They do not even agree completely on the problems that need solving if the concept is to continue to be meaningful. Nevertheless, the diverse discussions have hopefolly cast light on the complexity of being a citizen in a time of increasing cultural diversity within nation-states and greater fluidity of boundaries.
