ABSTRACT

In the preceding chapter, attention was focused on the major causes of nonenrolment, class repetition and dropout from primary school education. A major cause was recognized as that cause which was identified by at least 10 per cent of those to whom the question regarding causes of each educational wastage component was posed. Through a sieving process, only three of the most important causes of each educational wastage component were highlighted and earmarked for possible remedial action.
