ABSTRACT

In this book we have undertaken an assessment of the potential role of CO2 Capture and Storage (CCS) in reducing CO2 emissions from the UK’s electricity sector. We have sought to address several key questions concerning the viability of CCS in the UK context and in this chapter we review and summarise the answers to these questions. We then examine some of the key future research questions arising the project, as well as making recommendations to the UK and other governments regarding policy changes and developments which may be necessary to take CCS forward in a responsible and effective fashion.
