ABSTRACT

The development of globalisation is driven by economic forces. Although the term itself is used and interpreted in diverse and multifarious ways. it nonetheless denotes the pervasive trend towards international exchanges of people. cultures. activities. and. perhaps most crucially. in business and finance. Globalisation has also had an impact on the educational and academic fields by engendering exchanges of scholars and students and promoting collaborative and comparative research projects involving colleagues from other countries. Hong Kong. a cosmopolitan city strategically located as a gateway from the West to China and Southeast Asia. is in a good position to promote all types of international exchanges.
