ABSTRACT

The use of online tools has changed the ways in which we write and provides new options and opportunities for constructing, editing and sharing written work. Since so much of online learning depends on communicating using text, it is critical that students learn to write appropriately. We know that students’ fluency in writing develops with practice and feedback, alongside their growing understanding of the discipline. But the use of technologies does not automatically encourage students into effective approaches to writing, and they often need help in appropriate use of the technology to support their writing development.
