ThischaptersuggestshowHabermas'stheoryofcommunicativeactionmightbe usedtoaddressthechallengespresentedinChaptersOneandTwo:respectively, thedesireforanon-metaphysicalfoundationforatheologyofsacramentandthe difficultyofaccessingritualactivityforthepurposesofChristiantheology.lttakes Habermas'snotionofan'idealspeechsituation'andappliesittothecontextofthe celebrationoftheEucharist,consideringthesuggestionthataparallelcanbedrawn betweentheidealspeechsituationandtherealmofGodasenvisagedinChristian eschatology.
