ABSTRACT

Conquest and re-education In previous chapters we have looked at the beliefs and texts of the Cathars. We have also seen part of the reaction of the Catholics and particularly of the Dominicans to those texts and beliefs. But for the Dominicans and their view of the world - including the natural world - to prevail, more than argument was needed. We must return to the military events that enforced the Dominicans' arguments upon the doomed Troubadorean civilization.
