ABSTRACT

There is little doubt that one of the major changes in aviation training over the last decade has been the introduction of CRM (Crew Resource Management) programs as part of recurrent training (Helmreich, 1993; Weiner, Kanki & Helmreich, 1993.). Such programs aim to modify attitudes and behaviours in three major areas: communication, judgement and decision making, and teamwork with tl1e ultimate objective of producing more effective crew coordination and cockpit resource utilisation for safer flight.
