ABSTRACT
A research proposal fulfils a number of purposes, including an opportunity to consider the ethical implications associated with a research strategy. However, it is also useful as a means of establishing support from participating organisations, and/or for applying for research funding. From a researcher's perspective, the research proposal represents an opportunity to consider precisely the nature of the research question, and the type of methodology that is expected to be employed.
