ABSTRACT
As human behaviour is complex, studies of human behaviour are themselves likely to be complex. However, analyses of behaviour need not be complicated and some of the simplest research designs can often yield the most useful data. The optimal approach involves balancing the need for simplicity against the characteristics (variables) that might have an impact upon human performance.
