ABSTRACT
The purpose of the workshop was to discuss human factors issues associated with new air traffic control technologies. The workshop considered new technologies in air traffic control from four perspectives: reasons for technology replacement (with paper vs. electronic flight progress strips being considered as an example); communication; information display; and system functionality.
