Reducingcostsisanever-lastingissueinmodemindustrialenterprise.Allpartsof acompanyareunderconstantscrutinyincludingtherecruitment,selectionand trainingofnewstaff.Undercertaineconomicsituationsmanagersmighteven discussatotalclose-downofacompany'srecruitmentactivities,adebatenot unknownintheaviationworldwithitsvulnerablestructure.However,experience hasshownthatthiscouldmeanbitingthehandsthatfeed,asittakeshighresources andalongtimeuntilrecruitmentandselectionarebroughtintooperationagainand thecostsofpostsleftvacantareveryhigh.Thisisespeciallytrueforjobswhere thereisalargenumberofcandidatestobetestedinordertofindthesmallnumber ofapplicantswhoseemsuitablefortraining.Agoodexampleistheselectionofair trafficcontrollers,whereforinstanceinGermanyonlyaboutI0%ofallapplicants arerecommendedfortrainingwithaconstantlyhighdemandduringrecentyears.
