ABSTRACT

Sinceitbecameclear,sayfromthelate1970son,thatmanyaviationaccidents haveasoneoftheirmaincausalfactorstheinabilityofcrewstorespond appropriatelytothesituationinwhichtheyfindthemselves,theairlineindustryhas investedmuchtime,effortandmoneyinthedevelopmentofCrewResource Management(CRM)training.Forsafety'ssakeairlinesstartedprovidingCRM trainingforcockpitcrew,followedbycabinandmaintenancepersonnel,andhave beendoingsofor25yearsnow.JustatthetumofthecenturyCRMtraining becamemandatoryforairlineoperatorsandflighttrainingorganisationsinthe EuropeanJAA-countriesbyregulationthroughJAR-OPSandJAR-FCL.The regulationaroundCRMisstilldevelopingandexpandingovertheaviation professions.
