ABSTRACT

During the certification of JetBlue we realized that we had a unique, albeit dichotomous, publications opportunity available to us. As a new company we had no legacy system to overcome, but conversely, we had only a few months to develop a viable manual system. The certification team had a lot of previous experience with paper systems, but little experience with the employment of an electronic solution. One of our most important choices was the selection of an appropriate media for transmission. We knew we wanted to make use of the computer network that we were building, but initially there were no electronic solutions available on which to base a plan of action. This lack of a working model required us to develop our own philosophy.
