ABSTRACT
This book provides an overview of current practices and standardization efforts to make the creation, management and use of operational information more efficient. From these activities, we have outlined the vision, planning and implementation to help operators and industry make the critical transition from documents to data. Safetyand time-critical, human factors, security and standardization provide key underlying considerations as the industry migrates to electronic documents. In the absence of well established guidelines, these considerations and the recommendations they imply provide corporate and industry direction for improving the management and use of aviation information.
