What is Institutional Critique? How should it be distinguished om other legacies of the historical avantgarde; om other discourses and disciplines that reect on art ‘institutions’, now including not only art, art history, and architecture, but anthropology and sociology, cultural policy and curatorial studies, among others? … I would suggest that Institutional Critique as a practice cannot be dened by an object, nor as an
‘institution’ … nor even as art about art … Institutional Critique can only be dened by a methodology of critically reexive site-specicity.
