NotonlyisCognitiveTaskAnalysis(CTA)abottom-upformofanalysis, workingfromadata-drivenperspective,butitsapplicationsinaviation researchandoperationshavefollowedasimilarpath.Theearlierareasof applicationtendedtobeatthetraininglevelwithitsrelativelycloselinks totraditionaltaskanalysis,withmorerecentapplicationsinsystemsdesign anddevelopment.NotuntilveryrecentlyhaveCTAmethodsbeenapplied attheupperlevelsofanorganization,suchashumanresource management.
