ABSTRACT

The objectives of this chapter are to introduce some of the more commonly used Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) analytic methods and techniques, describe some of their basic features, and describe the factors analysts must consider to select the most appropriate methods for a particular project. This is not a complete listing. Other sources, such as Cooke (1994), Zsambok and Klein (1996) and Kirwan and Ainsworth (1992), provide complete descriptions of these and other techniques. These references also provide complete comparisons of the pros and cons of the various methods.
