ABSTRACT
If your work is about people and their problems, one area of knowledge to which you are bound to turn is that produced by sociologists and psychologists. However, the status and variety of their knowledge can be quite bewildering. The temptation is simply to ignore it, though the case has already been made that this amounts to running blind in a field which already has more than enough boulders to trip, bruise and maim the unwary.
