ABSTRACT

Construction Projects over a certain size or complexity, involving many workers or complex groups of specialists must be reported to the HSE. A notiable project is any project where the construction phase will be longer than 30 days with 20 or more workers working simultaneously at any point, or 500 person days, whichever is shorter; anything that involves fewer people does not have to be reported. e criteria for notication of projects to the HSE (30 days, with 20 or more workers working simultaneously at any point, or 500 person days – whichever longer) ensure projects of brief but intense work are reported to the HSE. All construction projects (regardless of size, duration or complexity) are now subject to the requirements of CDM and the notication threshold has no eect on the requirements of the appointments of a Principle Designer or Principle Contractor.
