ABSTRACT
Airports are an essential part of the air transport system. They play a vital role not only within the macro environment of transportation, but also in the process of increasing the quality of life of their regional economies directly participating in wealth creation. They can thus be considered as leading players in regards to economic, productive, tourist and commercial upgrades of a territory, thanks to the ‘multiplier effect’ in the number of potential business transactions they may stimulate.
