Frantz Fanon, French psychiatrist and revolutionary writer whose work profoundly influenced the radical movement in the 1960's in the u.s. and Europe, defines violence as a cleansing force: 'It frees us from our inferiority complexes, it makes us fearless and restores our self-respect.
