ABSTRACT
Aeronautics and the American Association of Aerospace Industries (AIA). But these estimates will be supplemented with "bottom up" data taken from NASA R&T contracts, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. In our view the latter approach is very useful in tracking the flow of benefits to individual companies in the U.S. LCA sector. In previous studies of U.S. LCA subsidy the precise benefit of NASA programs to the LCA sector has been difficult to determine because of lack of contract data. Accordingly, we have sought to provide this information in our NASA analysis. For a full account of the methodology used in our analysis the reader should refer to Appendix A.
