ABSTRACT
The meaning and ambit of generally accepted accounting principles have been
considered in Chapter 1. Any accounting practices which are in violation of generally
accepted accounting principles (GAAP) are deemed to be irregular. In other words,
accounting irregularities contradict the objective of accounting and defeat the spirit of
having GAAP in place.
