ABSTRACT
It is now more than sixty years since the first printed report recommended action learning to The Mining Association of Great Britain, the previous owners of the coal industry, in October 1945, suggesting a staff college for those with problems to come together and learn with and from each other, a venture that did not envisage the permanent employment of a highly qualified staff of specialist tutors, to deliver the lectures or conduct the seminars.
