ABSTRACT
A project consists of a number of phasing (non-managerial, content activities), managing (planning and control activities) and decision-making activities or processes. These will be carried out with limited means to reach a unique deliverable. Not everything that is called a project is actually a project or should be tackled as such. A project management methodology is only appropriate when a project meets certain preconditions.
