ABSTRACT

Lou was interviewed by Kremer as part of her doctoral study (see Chapter 1). Lou was then thirty-four and had recently married; she has no children. She was born in Toronto, but lived most of her early life on the south-western tip of Ontario. Her mother is a writer and her father a jazz musician. Lou herself has been a disc jockey, a model, estate agent, sales person, and has worked in the fashion and service industries. When she first came to Vancouver, she worked as a hostess, and uses her jobs to gather money for travelling, which she loves.
