ABSTRACT
RUSTYSKEWS Rusty Skews has 2,500 tattooes on her body. I always feit I was different to other people so I just thought I would make a statement that I was different and that at that time tattooing was very weird, wonderful, there was a mystique, a mystery about it. My mother was mortified when she found out about it. She went to the doctors to ask if I could have my tattoos removed. One time when somebody walked into your studio with a tattoo, you could say 'oh you had that done in Edinburgh or Glasgow or Cardiff', you could actually recognise the man who had done it. But now there are so many tattooists it is very difficult to tell who has done it. Do you regard yourself as a work 01 art? Not a work of art, more a curiosity, an oddity!
