ABSTRACT
What is partly behind saying that morality is conventional is the insight that morality is not concerned with matters of fact as science is. Nor even with truths in the sense that mathematics is. ‘You could not show that a different morality is absurd.’ But what needs examination is the phrase ‘a different morality’.
