ABSTRACT

Using this scale, try to think about situations where you learned something that is important to you. Perhaps you became competent, or even an expert, in a skill. Think about how long it took to become skilled. Probably, you can recall coming to terms with the pressing need to acquire a new skill; the first tentative steps and the daunting feeling of a significant investment on the way to mastering the new skill; the reassurance which comes with progress; and the confirmation that you could do what others before you have achieved.
