ABSTRACT

In Chapter 7, we have examined how the program objectives are defined by its stakeholders, how the purpose and objectives of the program are defined and how the program is evaluated. In Chapter 8 we will see how to set it up to be able to deliver value to the business. Preparation consists of setting up the governance system, defining the program architecture, deploying the initial team and developing the detailed business case and program plan. It is also during this process that proposals are made for candidate components (projects and other actions). The ultimate purpose of program preparation is to get approval for the program deployment.
