Player plug-in, and Flash use is not well supported in a multi-platform environment, presenting problems to many web page developers.
HTML5 can play videos in a browser without the help of third-party plug-ins, only coordinating JavaScript. This is a great leap forward compared to HTML4.01. The current support given to the <video> tag in various browsers is summarised in Table 1. Meanwhile, HTML5 technology for video and interactive support, especially taking advantage of mobile platforms, is a huge challenge to Flash.
