ABSTRACT
Use any picture book version that tells the traditional story, the author tells to read the whole story of Goldilocks. Then, turn to a page with a picture of all three bears. Find a picture of Goldilocks and show it to the children. Ask the children what a baby dog is called and what it looks like. Discuss the fact that we can give hugs and play games and make each other laugh but there are some really important things parents do for their children that keep them alive. Although the equipment will be largely familiar to the children, they may never have thought about why it is needed so spend time discussing and demonstrating the way it is designed to help the baby. The important skills here are observing the effect of exercise on our bodies and choosing the ones that make us out of breath and the ones that exercise our legs, as we need these for running.
