ABSTRACT
Many students enrolled in an introductory statistics course find univariate analysis of variance to
be one of the most challenging topics that is covered. This is probably due to the complex nature of the
formulae and the related hand calculations. After all, compared to a simple t test, the nine separate equations
and subsequent calculations that make up a univariate analysis of variance seem absolutely overwhelming.
