ABSTRACT

Do athletes need to be educated in the way they express their feelings? Or, the question is a deeper one and pertains to their emotional constitution. We can speak of quality of emotions and affects of emotions. Athletes, as diverse as they are, also come from diverse emotional backgrounds and can, and often do, have and express very raw, uncultivated emotions. These emotions could be worked on during training with the help of coaches and sport psychologists. We care so much for the physical being of the athlete; why not also for their psychological and emotional well-being?
