ABSTRACT

Friends since graduate school, Andrea Lunsford and Lisa Ede are leading theorists of collaborative writing and feminist rhetoric. From their first co-authored article in Rhetoric Review in 1983 to their edited collection Writing Together: Collaboration in Theory and Practice (2012), these scholars have challenged the field of rhetoric and composition to move beyond Enlightenment individualism and recognize “how much of the world’s writing is done collaboratively, how much knowledge is cocreated and coproduced.” 1 In the era of Wikipedia, their turn to collaborative authorship has never been more relevant. Lunsford and Ede have also published prolifically on issues of audience, new media, and the history of rhetoric.
