ABSTRACT

After Studying and Committing to Response to Intervention (RtI), staff must begin the strenuous but exciting journey of planning for the design and implementation of their system of RtI. Many school Leadership Teams, who leave RtI workshops eager to implement RtI, return to school to find hesitation and low confidence to implement on the part of staff. The Implementation Guide will help RtI Teams get their system of RtI off the ground – the right way – from the beginning. RtI relies on two types of assessments to identify and monitor students at risk for poor learning outcomes: Universal Screeners and Progress Monitors. RtI documentation sheets can be found as examples or templates from a variety of sources and range from very simple and basic to complex and detailed. Documentation of RtI with integrity and fidelity across prevention levels allows teams to demonstrate appropriate instruction has occurred.
