ABSTRACT

Service integration creates and verifies a service implementation that combines virtualized network functions (VNF) software with virtualized resources, functional components, management and orchestration, operations and support systems, and other elements to construct a valuable application service. As service integration is a large and complex task, cloud service customers often engage one or more service integration teams, so ownership of specific service integration risks is determined by the contractual arrangement that the cloud service customer makes with any organizations or suppliers that they contract with for integration services. Service integration carries several fundamental risks: wrong element used risk; system/service integration defect; element operational conditions violated; faulty service delivery architecture risk; faulty service control architecture risk; and faulty service workflow risk. Service integration deliverables may include and/or impact Visibility Risks and Service Policy Risks, but these risks are considered separately.
