ABSTRACT

This chapter explores effective factors towards enhancement of environmental awareness in a Thai public company. It summarizes how the UN has dealt with global problems and what future actions it is going to take. The chapter argues that the highest two internal factors considered were 'Good attitude towards environmental problems and environmental management' and 'Intention to change behavior towards being environmentally friendly'. 'The Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development has focused on the sustainable movement, raising environmental awareness and capacity building in environmental management. However, there were also barriers that would discourage pro-environmental behavior. Demographics, including educational level, income, gender and personal resources, were also internal factors that would influence environmental behavior. Respondents stated that the impact of such envi-ronmental problems explicitly showed the more negative experience facing on the environmental problems, the more environmental awareness level would enhance. 'Environmental Consciousness' or 'Environmental Awareness' was also defined under the internal factors.
