ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses issues arising among urban poor communities in the 21st century, particularly in identifying the categories of urban poor communities and the critical issues they face. It describes the Klang Valley city as well as in the suburbs near Klang Valley and explains the several categories of urban poverty and seven resolutions were determined to overcome juvenile issues in urban poor communities. The chapter identifies the critical issues of urban poor families, define an urban poor family and produce a model for transforming urban poverty in education, including juvenile crimes among children in the city. It argues that the prevailing moral decadence among youths mostly comes from poor families and poverty led to an increase in juvenile cases. The chapter explores the relationship between urban poverty and juvenile problems. It analyses the pattern of the family economic factors showed the highest juvenile crime.
