ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to provide empirical evidence from analyzing the effect of competence, motivation and innovativeness on the performance of mathematics teachers at Vocational Senior High School (VSHS) in the Central Java province. It shows a positive and significant relationship between the variables of competence and motivation and the variable of innovativeness. Proportional random sampling was used to obtain a sample of 200 mathematics teachers at VSHS in Central Java and measure the effect of teacher competence, motivation, and innovativeness on teacher performance, both directly and jointly using AMOS software LISREL 20. The dependent variable is a vocational school mathematics teacher's performance, and the three independent variables are: the competence, work motivation, and innovativeness of mathematics teachers at VSHS in the province of Central Java. Indeed, innovativeness by mathematics teachers was the most important variable in improving their performance.
