ABSTRACT

Interviews are key to news. It is much more interesting to hear someone actually involved in the story tell us about it than it is to hear an anchor or reporter reading from a script. But interviews are not nearly as easy as they appear to be. There is a misconception about the 'rules' to be followed during an interview. News is made up of big stories and not so big stories. Some stories are very interesting and some, well, not so much. Most people think it is a simple Q & A; the reporter or anchor asks the question and the person being interviewed answers it. Most reporters will take pretty much the same approach to this story and simply talk to someone from the group behind the area code change.
