ABSTRACT

Viewing data in simulated three-dimensional view provides an additional procedure for extracting information from the imagery. This is particularly useful in mountainous areas, or regions with variable elevation grades. Stereo Analyst is a digital stereoscopic software module within the ERDAS Imagine package that allows for the creation of anaglyphic images from the data. These types of images can be very informative and can be used to study or display the terrain of an area with high a steep or exaggerated relief, as well as aid in the delineation of features within an area of exaggerated relief. This exercise allows you to create anaglyphic images from the data that appear three-dimensional when viewed with the red and blue glasses (anaglyphic glasses).
