ABSTRACT

A project is ‘determinate’. From the outset it is known by all participants that it will be terminated at some point in the future, whether a natural or forced close. All projects need a formal close and a process to close down, hand over and wind up. This is about closing down the project in a structured way, learning from what has happened and feeding back into the organization, handing over and winding up, and asking, ‘Where next for the project team and project leader?’
