ABSTRACT

The research study described in this chapter provides postgraduate PM student researchers and their academic supervisors with an example of how a dual cycle action research model comprising the interlinked cycles of problem solving and research can be used to both conduct PM research and solve a real-life PM problem situation. The dual cycle action research model offers dual appeal to student researchers and their academic supervisors because it enables the student researcher to advance the practice of PM by applying a research methodology which is both practically relevant and academically rigorous.
