ABSTRACT

ΔE = h⋅v (12.1) where ΔE is the energy difference between two successive energy levels; h, Planck’s constant and v, the frequency. All forms of spectroscopy give spectra that may be described in terms of frequency, intensity and shape of spectral lines or bands. These observable properties depend on molecular parameters of the system.
